Some players accuse Rics of lacking in versatility, but I have yet to try a bass that sounds as good on record or live. I'm forever getting complements about her looks & tone. If I'm only allowed one bass, this is it.
70's Rose Morris Avon
Japanese bass 'inspired' by Gibson's shortscale EB0's & EB3's & sold only from their Denmark St store. Loaded with flatwounds & a single humbucking pickup, she thumps with a Motown/Mod/Disco hybrid sound.
'08 Italia Torino Hollowbody Shortscale
When we were looking for alternative tones during sessions for Rich Webb's 'Beautiful World', Taranaki Guitars (Germany) were kind enough to lend me a few Italia basses. I developed a soft spot for this model.
